The 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Nevzlin Research Center for Russian and East European Jewry- March 23, 2014

On March 23, 2014, the Nevzlin Research Center for Russian and East European Jewry at the Hebrew University celebrated its 10th anniversary. The event supplied a perfect opportunity to celebrate and discuss the contribution of the center for Russian and East European Jewry studies. The participants spoke about past and ongoing research initiatives, joint projects, international conferences and other scholarly activities initiated by the Center during the last decade.

About 100 guests honored the event, including the founder Mr. Leonid Nevzlin, the President of the Hebrew University Prof. Menachem Ben-Sasson and leading scholars in the field and alumni.

In his address, Mr. Leonid Nevzlin spoke about the reasons that led to the founding of the center (the first major project of the NADAV Foundation), on the days following its establishment, and stressed the importance of the study of the history, culture and tradition of Russian and East European Jewry.
